Tuscaloosa Mayor Takes Top Role in SEC Mayors Alliance

At the inaugural meeting of the SEC Mayors Alliance, held during this year’s South by Southwest conference in Austin, Texas, Tuscaloosa Mayor Walt Maddox was selected to serve as Chair.

The newly formed Alliance will concentrate on three shared priorities across its member cities, which include “public safety, relationships with the universities in our cities and economic development,” according to the press release.

Joining Maddox in leadership, Mayor Robyn Tannehill of Oxford, Mississippi, who was elected Vice Chair.

"I look forward to the positive impact that this group will have on our communities moving forward," said Mayor Walt Maddox. "I am proud and honored to work alongside my colleagues in this capacity."
