Tuscaloosa Raids Seize Alcohol,Betting Slips And Cash
Police carry out raids on suspected gambling and 'shot' houses in Tuscaloosa.The arrests and outstanding warrants are a result of a joint investigation into illegal alcohol sales and gambling operations in Tuscaloosa County.
According to al.com law enforcement officers seized 170 containers of beer, several bottles of liquor, tobacco, snack foods, a stolen handgun and cash.
Juretha Ann Scott, 50, of Tuscaloosa, was arrested and charged with sale of alcohol without a license and business license required.
Also investigators executed warrants at locations in the 1100 block of James I. Harrison Jr. Parkway and 1600 block of Avalon Drive.
They confiscated betting slips, gaming sheets, a laptop computer and $3,567 in cash
The Alabama State Bureau of Investigation's Alcohol Division and the Tuscaloosa Police Department jointly carried out the raids.
