Tuscaloosa’s 28 Year Record Temperature Daily Low Max Broken
No doubt we are experiencing unseasonable temperatures in Alabama and across the United States. There was snowfall in many spots in the Northeast and Midwest United States earlier this week.
In Alabama, Tuscaloosa set a record daily low maximum temperature according to the National Weather Service. Yesterday, Wednesday, April 21, 2021, the high temperature was 61 degrees. “This breaks the old record low maximum temperature for April 21st, which was 63 degrees in 1993.
You will be happy to know that even though we are off to a cold start this morning, “afternoon highs will be 30 to 35 degrees warmer with mostly sunny skies,” according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist note that we woke up to a “FROSTY START: Here are some temperatures across Alabama just before sunrise.”
