Tuscaloosa’s Jack Warner Dies at 99
Jonathan 'Jack' Warner, passed away peacefully early yesterday morning at the age of 99. Better known as Jack, he was a prominent figure in the Tuscaloosa community. He literally shaped the land of what we know as Tuscaloosa. He even has one of the busiest roads of Tuscaloosa named after him.
Warner was a businessman, philanthropist, and an avid art collector. Warner loved art so much, that he provided spaces and opportunities for younger artist. Many close to him say he had a big heart and a larger than life personality.
Warner was the CEO of his family's company, Gulf States Paper Co., for over 50 years, in 2010, his son, Jon Warner, took over the company.
Warner was well loved and will be missed by many.
