WATCH: Softball Team Gets Excited For A Detour in Tuscaloosa
Alabama softball's season is already shaping up to be a special one. The Tide has had a stellar start, and are about to begin SEC play.
But before they were to being their defense of the SEC title, they had one tournament to participate in, the T-Mobile Crimson Classic. The Tide did not disappoint, winning every game they took part in.
The Tide earned 2 wins over both Texas and Miami (OH). But the team wasn't the only thing that people were smiling about.
The Rock Valley Eagles, a NJCAA team, found out via a surprise that they were going to get to see the Crimson Tide take the field:
I have to say, this is such a wholesome reaction from everybody. Who wouldn't get excited to get to know they're getting to see the Crimson Tide softball in action?
Even coach Patrick Murphy stopped by to say hello to the team:
The Eagles were treated to a great performance by the Tide as well. Montana Fouts started in the circle for the Tide, and sans one home run given up, pitched lights out with the bats for Alabama staying red hot.
Alabama came away with 10-2 victory over Miami (OH), and finished the game in 5 five innings.
Patrick Murphy also commended the generating of run saying "I was really, really pleased with the continuation of our offense today. We talk a lot about handing the baton down to the next person like a relay and I thought we did a great job of that today."
The Tide opens SEC play against LSU on March 11th.
