West Alabama residents should stay weather-aware tomorrow, Friday, May 22, as there is potential for strong-to-severe storms in our area.

The Storm Prediction Center has issued a Marginal Risk for portions of Alabama, including the entire Townsquare Media Coverage Area.

The possible threats with this system are “isolated damaging wind gusts and an isolated, brief tornado,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

James Spann, Alabama Weather Network Chief Meteorologist, also pointed out that “Heavier storms could produce gusty winds, but lightning is always the bigger concern with storms this time of the year.”

You should pay attention from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., as that is the current timeline for active weather in our area.

The Townsquare Media Weather Center will track this storm system and provide an update tomorrow morning with the latest conditions.
