When To Take Down The Christmas Tree
When is the best time to take down your Christmas Tree? Some people take their holiday decorations down the day after Christmas, some on January 1st, and I have a few friends that leave the tree up for several months. My family tradition is that our Christmas Tree comes down on Three Wise Men Day, which is January 6, 2020. I don’t have a fancy explanation on why, but that is how we did it growing up, and I stick to it. My mother was the one to be sure we stuck to the tradition year after year. According to the Huffpost, “for many Christians, the holiday season doesn’t officially end until the 12th day of Christmas, known as the “Feast of the Epiphany” or “Three Kings’ Day.” My mother would explain to me as a child that was the day the Three Wise Men visited baby Jesus with a gift from each which was gold, frankincense, and myrrh. As an adult, I was actually in Puerto Rico during the magical time of “Dia De Reyes,” and it was a full-on celebration. From the food, parades, enchanting forests, and concerts, I had the time of my life. So, I will be taking my tree down on Three Wise Men’s Day and remembering family traditions and beautiful trips. Also, I dedicate this to my dearest friend Cassandra in Miami, Florida who calls me every year to find out when to take down the Christmas Tree! LOL
