Alabama’s Severe Weather Threat Continues Throughout the Weekend
According to the National Weather Service in Birmingham, there are “several windows of opportunity for severe thunderstorms that will continue tonight through the weekend.”
Weekend Outlook
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said to “expect scattered to numerous showers and storms tomorrow and Sunday across the state with highs in the 80s.”

Saturday Timing and Risk Areas
Currently, the timing of the possibility of severe weather is between Noon to 10 p.m. for roughly the southwest half of Central Alabama.
Sunday Timing and Risk Areas
Right now, the timing for the severe weather threat for Sunday starts in the afternoon and goes into the night. This is for much of Central Alabama.
Potential Threats This Weekend
“Understand the weekend won't be a wash-out, and the sun will be out at times. But a few passing thunderstorms are likely, and they will be strong where they form. Much of the state is in a level one or two severe weather risk both days; the concerns are hail and strong winds,” said Spann.
