Arch Manning Will Visit Alabama This Weekend
Quarterback Arch Manning, the No. 1 quarterback in the class of 2023 will visit the University of Alabama this weekend. The nephew of Super Bowl MVP quarterbacks Peyton and Eli Manning is one of the most coveted prospects in recent memory.
Alabama will take on Ole Miss, the alma mater of Eli and Archie Manning in a battle of two top-12 teams. The Crimson Tide are currently riding a 18-game winning streak, the longest in the country.
The New Orleans (La.) Isidore Newman product visited Tuscaloosa in June after the NCAA re-opened in-person recruiting.
“It’s just a machine,” said Manning in June. “Saban he runs a great program and there’s really no loopholes in that, no cutting corners which was amazing. I went to go see Bryce (Young) in a player run practice and it was cool because there was no coaches on the field and how organized and tight it was with just the players. They get after it and it’s organized and it was cool to watch. I’d love to be in a program like that, that organized with Coach Saban, that would be a dream come true.”
In high school career, Manning has earned MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year honors and was named to the MaxPreps Sophomore All-American Second-Team.
Manning was impressive in leading Isidore Newman an to a 28-0 victory over Vanderbilt Catholic in the first game of his junior season. He threw touchdown passes to three different receivers on Newman’s first three possessions and accounted for 288 yards of offense and four total touchdowns. On Friday, Manning scored five total touchdowns and led Newman to a 49-21 victory over Metairie Park Country Day.
The latest Manning superstar has already visited Georgia and has upcoming trips to Texas, Ole Miss and Clemson in October as well.
“Arch has been building a relationship with Alabama for a long time, first with Coach (Steve) Sarkisian and company," said 247Sports Director of Recruiting Steve Wiltfong. “But I think that has translated or been handed off to Bill O’Brien, and obviously Coach O’Brien has a ton of pedigree. I think there’s a lot of reasons why Arch Manning is excited about Alabama.”
The Tide signed four star Jalen Milroe in the 2021 recruiting class and still hold a commitment from four star Ty Simpson in the class of 2022.
