The month of October brings about many celebrations of Halloween. Child Abuse Prevention Services and West Alabama Wholesale have teamed up to celebrate the holiday with a trunk or treat. The event will take place on October 22nd.

The event is for kids ages 4-10 and will feature a safe environment for young children to trick-or-treat.  The Board President of Child Abuse Prevention Services, Terry Banks, says the idea for the event came from the Director of Marketing at West Alabama Wholesale.

"What brought about this idea was Mr. Trey Lanier from West Alabama Wholesale. He called me up, he said that he wanted to partner with Child Abuse Prevention Services for the Trunk or Treat and to raise money for abused children."

Parents and children can also expect more than candy. Banks elaborated on the various other ways kids will have fun during the event.

"They can expect a lot of fun. There's going to be a lot of candy. They're going to have the candy in the trunks of cars." Banks continued on. " There's going to be a snow machine out there, the people of West Alabama Wholesale will be in costume, some of the people of CAPS will be in full costume. There's going to be a bounce house. We're expecting between 100 and 150 children."

Banks also talked about how much this event means to him and CAPS as a whole.

"Child Abuse is ugly...that's why I am out there pushing every day trying to get the word out on child abuse." Banks said. "This is a great cause...and we're just trying to help these kids."

The Trunk or Treat will be at West Alabama Wholesale from 5 to 7 PM.
