For the last few weeks, I've been wondering what all of this talk was about a new strain of COVID-19. It had me wondering how it would affect Tuscaloosa, Alabama.

Have you heard about the Delta Variant? Many people may call it the newest strain of the COVID-19 virus. I wouldn't be honest if I told you, I don't know much about this Delta Variant. Not knowing about something is ok, but I had to go and educate myself on this. What better way than Youtube University!

Ok seriously, do you not feel a little more educated bout the Delta Variant? Honestly, after watching that video I'm a little nervous about how the Delta Variant will affect Tuscaloosa.

I remember the start of quarantine and how we thought it would pass a lot quicker than it did. Fast forward a full year and things were just starting to get back to normal. There was a lot that happened within that timeframe.

While a lot of major stores remained open, many local businesses suffered long-term closures. I specifically remember a few West Alabama businesses being forced to permanently close. Going months and months without being able to make a sale, or have your doors open and still having to pay for space isn't something many are able to do.

With this Delta Variant becoming more present, there's even talk that there are cases of the Delta Variant in Alabama. Do you think there will be a surge in numbers this summer? Do you think Tuscaloosa will be able to withstand another lockdown due to the virus?
