Confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus are on the rise in Tuscaloosa County, and now one local bar has closed out of an abundance of caution.

Moe's Original BBQ, located on University Boulevard in downtown Tuscaloosa, has temporarily closed its bar in an effort to stop the spread of COVID-19. The announcement was made on Instagram Tuesday, June 16th.

The restaurant has also modified its kitchen hours. Moe's Original BBQ will now be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday through Wednesday and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

Customers are encouraged to wear masks while in the restaurant and practice social distancing while inside.

The Alabama Department of Public Health has now confirmed 1,405 cases of the novel Coronavirus within Tuscaloosa County, and there are 26,524 confirmed cases of COVID-19 statewide. Alabama Governor Kay Ivey's current "Safer at Home" order allows restaurants and bars within the state to operate as long as staff and guests practice social distancing and employees wear face masks and gloves.
