DCH Changes COVID-19 Testing Procedures, Offers Additional Testing Sunday, March 22
DCH is changing the way it conducts testing for COVID-19 and adding an additional day of testing following the news that over half of samples collected last week resulted in inconclusive results.
DCH Health System posted an update to Facebook this morning stating that from this point forward, all COVID-19 testing would be conducted using swab testing. The health provider had been previously using sputum testing; however, many of those who submitted samples did not produce enough sputum, rendering their test samples unable to provide a definitive result.
DCH will also conduct additional COVID-19 testing tomorrow (Sunday, March 22) from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Testing will then resume its weekday schedule of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. as long as supplies remain available and there is no threat of severe weather.
