I remember back around 2017 and 2018, being vegan seemed like a huge trend. I blame it on a Netflix movie called What The Health. According to IMDB, What The Health follows an intrepid filmmaker on a journey of discovery as he uncovers possibly the largest health secret of our time and the collusion between industry, government, pharmaceutical and health organizations keeping this information from us. Throughout the movie, they really seemed to push the vegan lifestyle and position it as the solution to treating and preventing a lot of serious illnesses and diseases.

A year before the film became popular, my wife suggested we switch to a completely vegan lifestyle. We ended up going cold turkey vegan and sustained it for about 4 years. I loved being vegan and one day hopes to switch back.

July 4th weekend could be the start of me going vegan again, or I could just go out to learn about building credit.

Sunday, July 4, 2021, Fever's Grill and Juice Bar will host the annual Birmingham Black Veg Fest from 1-6 at 521 3rd Ave W in Birmingham. According to the event page's description, this year's focus is eating healthier and credit building. Financial Freedom helps to build generational wealth and better communities. Stop by and learn about credit, money, housing, banking.

I love how this event isn't just about good food, but education as well. Financial freedom and generational wealth are things that our community could use more knowledge about and this event has the information.
