Former Alabama Softball infielder Skylar Wallace will join the Florida Gators for this upcoming season, according to a press release.

After sources confirmed that Wallace entered the transfer portal back in September, Wallace joins a Gator squad that was ranked No. 7 nationally and tallied a 23-4 (3-0 SEC) record last season.

"This is an incredible opportunity and I am very thankful that I have found a home with the Gators," Wallace said in a press release. "I made plenty of great memories at Alabama and am also thankful for the opportunities I had there, but now I'm focused and ready to get to Gainesville, so I can start building relationships with my new teammates and coaches."

Wallace finished top five on the team in both batting average (.387) and in slugging percentage (.581) in just 22 games. In her 90 career starts with the Crimson Tide, Wallace was able to reach base safely in 72 appearances.

As an infielder Wallace was just as sold as she committed just 17 errors in her 90 starts. In both 2019 and in 2020, Wallace finished with a fielding percentage above .900.

"We're very excited that Skylar has decided to be a Gator." Walton said in a press release. "She plays the game with an incredible amount of energy and passion, and we look forward to her bringing those to Florida. This is a tremendous opportunity to coach Skylar and help her achieve all of her goals personally, academically and athletically."
