The Alabama Athletic Director, Greg Byrne, joined Wimp and Barry Sanderson on Inside The Locker Room this morning. It has been a wild week in college athletics that has seen a lot of changes and cancellations occur throughout college sports. Byrne broke down a lot of the decision-making moments over the past week for our audience.

Byrne discussed the moment he realized this was a health crisis for the athletes and decided to put that ahead of the competitive angle to the decision-making process. Byrne also detailed how the cancellations impact the construction and renovation projects that are currently occurring on campus.

Byrne urged patience from the fan base as the COVID-19 coronavirus situation is continually developing and changing. He expressed his concern for the student-athletes who have had their seasons cut short.

Byrne encouraged the Alabama fans to follow the guidelines set out in adjusting to the COVID-19 coronavirus and expressed hope that football will not be impacted in the fall by cancellations. He revealed that he has spent more time at home that usual in this season and encouraged others to do the same.
