Gusts Up to 35 MPH Prompt Wind Advisory for Portions of Alabama
You can expect some pretty nice days with sunny weather. The temperature high should be in the mid-70s while the lows in the 40s through Thursday. However, there is a concern for windy conditions today in portions of Alabama.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham has issued a Wind Advisory that starts at 11:00 a.m. today and lasts until 6:00 p.m. The only county at this time in our Townsquare Media coverage area that is impacted by this advisory is Walker County.
The other counties under the wind advisory are Blount, Calhoun, Chambers, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Etowah, Jefferson, Lee, Marion, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Walker, and Winston.
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said a “wind advisory is in effect today for much of North and East Alabama as pressure gradient winds remain strong. West winds will average 10 to 20 mph later today, with gusts up to 35 mph possible.”
