College football's first early signing period is underway and Alabama begins its quest for another top-ranked class.

After a slow start, the Crimson Tide has been rolling on the recruiting trail. This class currently has 17 verbal commitments and ranks 5th nationally on 247Sports. Those verbals will become signatures today and we're tracking all of the signees as they send in their National Letters of Intent to Tuscaloosa.

The day got started with punter Skyler DeLong out of South Carolina.

After DeLong, the Crimson Tide received the signature of running back Jerome Ford, a three-star prospect out of Florida.

Nick Saban's staff also added two big pieces to a position of need when four-star defensive backs Saivion Smith and Jayln Armour-Davis became official.

The fifth player in the 2018 signing class was four-star wide receiver Xavier Williams.

One of the top committed players for the Crimson Tide became the sixth player in the class. Stephon Wynn is a four-star defensive lineman out of IMG Academy.

The seventh player in was Jarez Parks, who greyshirted this season and has already been practicing with the team.

One of the nation's top tackles, Tommy Brown, became the eighth player of the signing class.

Defensive end Jordan Davis, another top 100 prospect, was the ninth player in.

The 10th player added to the class was the Emil Ekiyor, who is the nation's No. 2 center.

The player of the year in Louisiana, Slade Bolden, was 11th in for the Tide.

Utah four-star defensive end Cameron Latu followed Bolden and brought the total to 12.

The 13th player in for Alabama was Pennsylvania defensive tackle Christian Barmore.

The 14th player in the class came all the way from Connecticut. Josh Jobe is a four-star defensive back and a top 100 player nationally.

The first five-star in the class of 2018 was a Signing Day surprise. Maryland defensive end Eyabi Anoma announced his decision during a ceremony today.

Will continue tracking this throughout the early signing period, which ends on Friday. You can also get the latest on the Tide app and by listening here.
