She’s the Birmingham optometrist who went viral following her mini sermon taken from the text—well, actually the LYRICS from “Wipe Me Down.”

Croom has been quoted numerous times (with no attributed credit) and though her “sermon” was a humorous take on the song, she has gained mass appeal among those who enjoy clean comedy.  She also made waves with her sharing of a photo displaying her with her siblings, who are all HBCU grads.

Those who are social media friends or followers of Lori Croom are already aware of her sense of humor and that she says she sometimes leans towards ratchet tendencies.

Today, she made the announcement that she is now a published author. The title of the book is not very surprising: “My God Today: 365 Devotions for People Who Might Be a Lil’ Ratchet (But God Knows Your Heart) and has been endorsed by Birmingham Mayor Randall Woodfin.

Photos of pages from the book show that its content falls directly in line with the original video that brought Croom into major public eye.

The description on Amazon states the following:

Does Trap Music move you on a spiritual level? Maybe it should. Join Dr. Lori for 365 days of spiritual enrichment based on God's Word AND some of our favorite hood anthems. This is a surprising journey that you won't regret!

One thing is for sure, Dr. Croom has a vision which exceeds far beyond the physical eye.  She has a target and knows exactly how to hit it.
