Is The Unemployment Rate Really Down In Tuscaloosa

So with all the great unemployment news from last week, how the national average is way down, and that so may people are working now. Well that's not the case in Tuscaloosa and Alabama as a whole. The Unemployment rate is up but there is more people working now than it was last year.

Tuscaloosa's unemployment rate is higher than it was at this time last year, the city of Tuscaloosa was even worse. Although there are more folks living in the state or who have moved into Alabama that does tweak the numbers somewhat. Birmingham seems to be slightly lower while the outline cities like Selma, Trussville and Bessemer are even higher.
