How was this list created?

The folks at 24/7 looked at county data from the 2023 County Health Rankings & Roadmaps report, which was done in conjunction with the University Of Wisconsin.

The data formed the list of the "Fifty Most Obese Cities In America".

35. MOBILE

The people of Mobile, Alabama represent the first city in Alabama to make the list.

The obesity rate among adults is nearly 40% (The national average is 32%)

31. DECATUR

Decatur, Alabama has a slightly larger percentage than Mobile of adults who are obese.

Now, we get closer to the top and we find:

That's right! Gadsden, Alabama has an obesity rate among adults of 41.1%.
