Mike Rowe once said, " Not every child will become a doctor or lawyer. Teach your kids that it's okay to work with your hands and build cool stuff." That is absolutely on point, Mr. Rowe!

We need young people interested in working with their hands and kids who enjoy building something great. We have an organization in West Alabama devoted to teaching young people how to master a trade that requires skills. It's called Skilled Trades of West Alabama, and they help you learn a trade and build a career.

Now is the time to consider applying for great trades like electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and carpentry, with several apprenticeships currently open in West Alabama. Skilled Trades of West Alabama can get you connected with these important apprenticeships.

The classes will be held on the campus of Skilled Trades of West Alabama, located at 1300 James I Harrison Parkway in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Mandatory orientation will take place on August 10th at 5:00 pm. Classes will take place one night per week from 5-8 pm from August 2026 through July 2027.
