Researchers say Woody's popularity may be tied to his leadership, loyalty and ability to adapt to change throughout the franchise. The study also suggests many viewers connect with his relationship-driven personality and willingness to support others.

Other characters also found loyal fan bases across the country. Mr. Potato Head ranked first in six states, while Mrs. Potato Head and Stinky Pete each led in three states. Buzz Lightyear, Bo Peep, Forky and Slinky Dog were the most popular characters in two states each.

The research also examined which Toy Story films generated the most online interest. Toy Story 4 ranked as the most-searched movie in 23 states, followed by Toy Story 2, which led in 13 states. The original Toy Story remained the favorite in six states.

Researchers found anticipation for Toy Story 5 is already growing, with Delaware showing the highest search interest for the upcoming film, followed by California, Utah, Oklahoma and Rhode Island.

Fusion Academy says the findings highlight how different characters resonate with different personalities, reinforcing the idea that every individual learns, connects and experiences the world in their own way, even as technology becomes a larger part of everyday life.
