One Dead After Driver Crashes Into Family of Four in Brent Saturday Night

A traffic accident near the Sawmill restaurant in Brent claimed one life on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

Three others were injured in the two-vehicle accident that happened around 10:30 p.m. on Highway 5.

WBRC reports that authorities had attempted to initiate a traffic stop after observing a driver swerving through traffic; however, that driver did not stop and crashed the vehicle into another car containing a family of four.

One person was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, while three others were transported to different local hospitals for treatment of injuries.

According to a Facebook post from the Brent Volunteer Fire Department, multiple agencies responded to the accident and were on the scene for several hours.

The investigation into the accident continues, and no further details are available at this time.
