More Cold Temperatures for Alabama, Freeze Watch on Saturday
Go head pull out the coats for just a few more days. Hopefully, this is the last cold snap of the season. I’m sure that Alabamians are ready for nice Spring weather. Our listening areas are in store for some chilly temperatures over the next few days.
The National Weather Service has issued a Freeze Watch for Saturday. This covers all of Central Alabama. It is in effect from 1 am to 9 am on Saturday. Please remember that for the “Freeze Warning, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 27 expected. For the Wind Advisory, north winds 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph. For the Freeze Watch, sub-freezing temperatures as low as 28 possible.”
Don’t forget that we also have a Freeze Warning for all of Central Alabama for Friday from 1 am until 9 am. As we prepare for this widespread freeze, temperatures will start to fall below freezing after 1 am on Friday and then again on Saturday. It would help if you were to protect outdoor animals, plants, and plumbing from these potential freezing conditions. Prepare now because freezing and the potential for bursting water pipes is not ideal.
