Most of Alabama Under a Marginal Risk Saturday for Severe Storms
I don’t know about you but it seems like May has just flown on by. I can’t believe next weekend we will be celebrating the Memorial Day Holiday. We will be sure to bring you the holiday weekend weather guide.

Today, you can “expect sun at times later today, and showers and storms that form this afternoon should be more widely scattered than recent days,” said James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist. “The chance of any one place seeing rain today is 20-30 percent, and the high will be in the 78-82 degree range.”
Saturday Weather Outlook
Saturday, there is a “marginal risk” for severe thunderstorms for almost all of Alabama, according to the Storm Prediction Center. Spann said that the main threats with heavier storms are “hail, strong winds, and lots of lightning.”
Saturday Timing
As of right now, the timeframe is between Noon and 8 p.m. for the severe storm activity, according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
