There is the possibility for some isolated storms later today and into the evening hours for portions of our Townsquare Media coverage areas. These “isolated severe storms will be possible due to a very warm and unstable air mass ahead of an approaching surface front,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that is for “mainly over the southern half of the state. Like yesterday, where storms do form, they could produce small hail and gusty winds, but most of the state will stay dry. The high today will be in the mid to upper 80s.”

Where:

Along and south of a line from Sumter, Chilton, to Chambers Counties.

When:

Today and tonight from 1 pm to 9 pm.  Storms should dissipate during the overnight hours.

Threats:

Damaging straight-line winds to 60mph and quarter-size hail.  No threat for tornadoes
