It's a beautiful thing to see women in support of each other, and it's never too early for girls to learn how to be get along and encourage others. That's the beauty of Pretty Brown Girl Club #88.

The local chapter of Pretty Brown Girl Club started as a service project by community advocate Kerri Ash. She researched an undertaking to celebrate her birthday and came upon Pretty Brown Girl.

Ash used her birthday as a way to reach area youth and not only empower them, instill positive self images, and teach unity but to also show them the importance of serving their communities. Thus, Pretty Brown Girl Club 88 emerged.

February 22, the 10th Annual Pretty Brown Girl Day Celebration will be held at the Weeping Mary Baptist Church (2010 T.Y. Rogers Jr. Ave) beginning at 10:00 a.m.  Young ladies are invited for a time of creativity, inspiration, and celebration!
