The National Weather Service in Birmingham is urging Alabamians to be prepared for the threat of severe weather this weekend.

The latest forecast suggests severe storms will impact the state Saturday, and possible threats could include damaging winds in excess of 70 miles an hour as well as strong tornadoes. Storms are currently projected to impact West Alabama between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
