Severe Weather Sunday: Threats of Damaging Winds, Hail in Alabama
Our area has a couple of days of quiet weather after that long stretch of severe weather. On Sunday, you can expect of all of central Alabama “severe thunderstorms are possible beginning late morning to midday Sunday, with multiple rounds expected into the evening and overnight hours,” according to the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
Threats
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist said that Storm Prediction Center “has now included much of Alabama in a severe weather risk for tomorrow/tomorrow night. Storms that roll into the state from the north will have the potential to bring strong winds and some hail.”
Timing
When it comes to the timing of the severe weather threat, “there will likely be several rounds of storms, and the storms will be somewhat scattered in nature,” said Spann.
