It goes without saying that lack of male mentorship and involvement is one of the factors that disrupts development not only in the youth and family structure but also in some communities. Every member of society has a role. When those roles aren’t filled, there is an area that goes lacking.

In addition to filling a void, membership at the YMCA affords the opportunity for neighbors to become acquainted and for business relations to form as members become partners and go on to assist each other in various areas of life and professional development.

The Benjamin Barnes YMCA is a focal point in the West Tuscaloosa community, providing a variety of services including after school programs, health and wellness services, and more.  Visit online or contact Executive Director Lakeda Smith or Membership Chairman Tempera Ryans at (205) 759-4284 or (205) 759-4285.
