Three Alabama players were selected by the Associated Press to its midseason All-American team, quarterback Bryce Young, left tackle Evan Neal and outside linebacker Will Anderson, the most selections of any school.

Young has been phenomenal in first season as a starter, he ranks first in the SEC in quarterback rating and passing touchdowns. He also ranks second in the conference in passing yards and completion percentage. The sophomore was named SEC Offensive Player of the Week and the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback of the Week in first career start against Miami. Young currently sits as one of the favorites to win the Heisman trophy.

After a stellar freshman campaign, Will Anderson has been even better as a sophomore. Against Mississippi State, he became the first Alabama player to record four sacks in a game since Derrick Thomas in 1988. The Georgia natives seven sacks rank first in the SEC and his 15 tackles for loss rank first in the entire country. While his play on the field as improved, its his leadership skills that may have the greatest impact on this team.

"Will is a great influence. When he speaks to the team, everybody's locked in, everybody listens," said Jordan Battle. "And, as you can see last year, it turned out to be a good thing, a good outcome. We're just going to continue to do that as a leadership group on this team, just get on the guys and make sure our focus is always on the right things."

"I've seen him take a big step, I would say, since the offseason," said Malachi Moore. "Will always comes to work every day, and he's one of those players that when he says it, everybody listens just because of how hard he works. He goes hard every day in practice no matter what we're doing, and he always just trying keep everybody accountable and to keep the main the main thing and our goals the same."

Neal, a top prospect in next years NFL draft has helped pave the way for running backs Brian Robinson Jr. and Roydell Williams. Robinson ranks fourth in the SEC in rushing yards and is tied for second with eight rushing touchdowns. Williams is averaging 6.4 yards per carry. Neal has allowed just one sack in 206 pass attempts and has accounted for a team-high 15 knockdown blocks.
