A member of the Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service has tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.

According to WVUA 23's Chelsea Barton, Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue Service Chief Randy Smith said one of his firefighters has tested positive for COVID-19 and has been placed on leave. Another firefighter has also been tested and is currently awaiting those test results.

Smith also said that 17 others who work at Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue are currently self-quarantined.
