We’re entering a love-soaked holiday weekend, where Cupid is the star. Expect local grocery stores to be filled to capacity with red and pink heart-shaped balloons signaling romance is in the air.

With Valentine’s Day landing on a Saturday this year, Alabamians probably won’t be limiting their affection to just one day; the celebration runs all weekend long.

Saturday, the cloud cover will start to increase statewide tomorrow as an approaching storm system edges closer. Temperatures across West Alabama will reach the upper 60s to the lower 70s. Also, there could be a few spotty showers possible.

Sunday, James Spann, Alabama Weather Network and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist, said that a “good rain event is ahead for Alabama” and “most places will see at least one inch of rain.”

The Storm Prediction Center has a "marginal risk" (level 1/5) of severe thunderstorms for portions of West Alabama. The Townsquare Media Weather Center will continue to monitor conditions over the weekend.
