The holiday weekend is here, and if you're headed to the Gulf Coast you need to know that Coronavirus restrictions are still in place for visitors and locals alike.

The City of Gulf Shores is warning tourists that the state's "Safer at Home" order is being strictly enforced, and a zero-tolerance policy will be in place for those found in violation of the order.

ABC 33/40 News reports that businesses who violate the order risk losing their licenses, and tourists could be fined up to $500 for violations. Locals and visitors are strongly advised to wear face masks in restaurants, parks, and other public spaces.

Social distancing will be strictly enforced on the City of Gulf Shores' beaches, and all restaurants will comply with the Alabama Department of Public Health's guidelines for preventing the spread of COVID-19.
