An 18-year-old has been charged with murder in connection to the second fatal shooting at a Tuscaloosa convenience store in 72 hours.

Captain Jack Kennedy, the commander of the multi-agency Violent Crimes Unit, said officers were called to Winston's Mart on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, where the victim, Xzavier Eatmon, had been shot one time.

Eatmon was taken to DCH Regional Medical Center for treatment, but did not survive his injuries.

Kennedy said officers saw the suspect, Lamarcus Keon McNeal, flee the scene on foot and arrested him several blocks away.

After interviewing witnesses, examining evidence and reviewing surveillance footage, McNeal was charged with murder and booked in the Tuscaloosa County Jail on a $150,000 bond.

Just three days before, a 20-year-old man was shot and killed at the same convenience store and another 18-year-old was charged with murder in that case.

Kennedy said the two incidents were unrelated, and that McNeal is believed to have shot Eatmon after "an argument over a personal issue."
