Alabama Commit JD Davison Named McDonald’s All-American

Alabama basketball commit JD Davison has been named to the McDonald’s All-American team, which is one of the highest honors a high school player can get.

The five-star guard becomes the seventh Crimson Tide signee to ever be named an All-American. Davison joins Gerald Wallace (2000), Mo Williams (2001), Richard Hendrix (2005), JaMychal Green (2008), Devonta Pollard (2012), and most recently, Collin Sexton (2017). Current Alabama guard Jahvon Quinnerly also made the game back in 2018 when he was named an All-American as a Villanova signee.

Davison joins Auburn signee Jabari Smith, and Tennessee signee Kennedy Chandler as SEC commits to make the team.

A four-year varsity starter in high school, Davison is averaging nearly 35 points per game in his senior season at Calhoun High School as well as 10.6 rebounds per game which is eye-opening for a guard. Davison has also made himself a regular on the Overtime Instagram, a page that focuses on the best players, dunks, and craziest plays in the high school basketball world.

JD Davison announced, via a Twitter video, that he would be attending the University of Alabama on Oct. 3rd, 2020 and then signed on as a commit in his hometown of Letohatchee, AL on November 14th.
