Confirmed cases of the novel Coronavirus continue to climb across the United States, and although Alabama is seeing far fewer cases than states like Montana, Ohio, and Wisconsin, we're still seeing an increase of COVID-19 infections in the Yellowhammer State.

I will freely admit that I am so over everything related to this pandemic. I am tired of having my schedule changed. I am tired of distance learning. I am tired of not being able to tailgate, go to concerts, or watch a football game in Bryant-Denny.

I hate wearing a mask when I am out in public. I hate washing my hands so often that my skin feels like sandpaper.

I hate all of it, but I know these are small sacrifices. I have had friends who've been infected with COVID-19 and earlier this fall, we lost a dear family friend to this virus. The threat of COVID-19 is real, and cases are climbing.

Take a look at the latest case trend graph from Bama Tracker.

You can see that cases sharply declined after Governor Kay Ivey issued the mask mandate, but now cases are on the rise again--why?

Are we letting our guard down too much?

I don't know about you, but I do NOT want to experience another lockdown. I'll gladly do whatever is necessary to prevent us from being able to travel or shop, and it's up to all of us to do the same.

Think critically about your holiday plans, and make sure that your friends and family do the same. It may suck to have to FaceTime Nana instead of sharing turkey and dressing this year, but if we all do our part we can prevent the spread of this deadly virus.
