Being In The Present

I used to drive everyone nuts because I had every moment of my life planned out, literally.  And I would get upset if anything or anyone got my schedule off because it was so planned out.  What an awful way to live.  Even though I thought I was efficient, I was miserable.  In having every moment, planned made me unhappy.  Over time, I was able to let go of this type of behavior and started being more spontaneous.  Living in the present and accepting the lemons that life handed me versus trying to always plan for the lemons to arrive.  I found that Thich Nhat Hanh understood being present in life by saying, “If you abandon the present moment, you cannot live the moments of your daily life deeply.”  I encourage you to live life more in the present and value each moment as a gift.

Enjoy, Mary K
