Dr. Cynthia Warrick Honored as Black History Maker of Alabama

92.9 WTUG, Praise 93.3, and 105.1 The Block in partnership with Robinson Automotive, the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, Delta Phi Lambda Chapter, the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated, Eta Xi Omega Chapter, along with Lanier Automotive, Bryant Bank, and Dixie Motors in Northport, we are proud to salute Dr. Cynthia Warrick.

Dr. Cynthia Warrick is the 7th President and the first female to lead Stillman College, a historically black liberal arts college in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. With over 20 years of higher education faculty and administrative positions, Dr. Warrick received the Ph.D. in Environmental Science & Policy at George Mason University after completing the MS Public Policy at Georgia Tech and the BS Pharmacy degree from Howard University.

She began her academic career with the pharmacy school faculty at Howard University, followed by appointments at the University of Texas Houston Health Science Center, Texas Southern University, Florida A&M University, and Elizabeth City State University.

Prior to her selection as President of Stillman, she served as Interim President of Grambling State University and South Carolina State University. Dr. Warrick is a life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and serves on the boards of the United Way of West Alabama, the West Alabama Chamber, the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority, the Tuscaloosa County Preservation Society, the Girl Scouts of North-Central Alabama, and the Tuscaloosa Rotary Club.

She is very proud of her children and family members' accomplishments who represent 17 HBCUs (Bennett, Elizabeth City State, Florida A&M, Hampton, Howard, Johnson C. Smith, Morehouse, North Carolina Central, Prairie View A&M, Shaw, Spelman, St. Augustine, St. Philip's, Southern, Texas Southern, West Virginia State, and Virginia Union).
