Flash Flood Watch Starts Wednesday Morning
As you know, we have had a massive amount of rain over the past few weeks. There is now the potential for even more rainfall that can be heavy at times. We now have a Flash Flood Watch issued by the National Weather Service that goes into effect Wednesday, March 4, 2020, from 6 am until Thursday, March 5, 2020, at Noon. My concern is that the ground is already saturated, and more rainfall will bring forth localized flash flooding. The Flash Flood watch is giving us all a heads up that conditions could develop into flash flooding.
According to the National Weather Service, the counties affected will be “Autauga, Barbour, Bibb, Bullock, Calhoun, Chambers, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lee, Lowndes, Macon, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Pickens, Pike, Randolph, Russell, Shelby, St. Clair, Sumter, Talladega, Tallapoosa, and Tuscaloosa.”
