Though many of us know that the Second Amendment makes concession for the bearing of arms, not everyone knows the process of obtaining a firearm, licensing, or laws concerning concealed carry.

It is said that over 1.3 million women are victimized in the U.S. each year.

Women Protection Services is working to change all of this. The organization describes its mission as being to empower women and give the knowledge, skills, and attitude to safely and effectively defend themselves.

An online concealed carry class is being held this Sunday, June 7 at 9 a.m. CST. Source.

According to Women Protection Services, the class will cover concealed carry laws, shooting fundamentals, picking the right gun for you, traveling with a gun, use of force scenarios,  getting your concealed carry permit, and more.

Upon completion, participants will receive a certificate as proof of formal training.

The course cost is $24, and participants are eligible to apply for a Virginia non resident permit, which allows the legal carrying in at least 29 states including Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Georgia. To find out if your state is covered, click here.

While gun violence is never encouraged, protecting one’s self and family is! With this in mind, it is imperative that anyone who owns a gun stores it properly, especially keeping it out of reach of children and taking necessary measures to prevent having it stolen from a vehicle.

Ladies who are already gun owners, is there any kind you'd recommend for a new gun owner?  Are there any tips you'd like to share?
