Antonio Coleman has had a bit of a strange recruitment. He committed to Alabama seemingly out of the blue in September, then flipped from Alabama to Auburn, once again seemingly out of the blue in December.

Coleman's flip was the first of many, but the rest came mostly after Nick Saban retired from coaching in January. Alabama kept his primary recruiter and positional coach, Freddie Roach, in the transition from Nick Saban to Kalen DeBoer. Roach and Alabama have continued to push for Coleman since they officially became staff members.

In January, DeBoer and Alabama landed a re-commitment from five-star wide receiver Ryan Williams, who was committed to Alabama before Saban's retirement. Now, DeBoer and Alabama dip back into the Saraland Spartans' roster, and flip Coleman from Auburn, back to the Crimson Tide.

Coleman, a four-star, top-120 prospect in the 2025 class, has recorded 131 tackles, 42.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, and one fumble recovery in two seasons with the Spartans varsity team.

Alabama's defensive line is loaded with upperclassmen talent, with Tim Smith, Tim Keenan, Jaheim Oatis, LT Overton, Jah-Marien Latham, and Damon Payne Jr. all expected to get time in the rotation. All six players are draft-eligible following the 2024 season. Alabama has another seven defensive linemen behind them though, so Coleman would still have to work if he hopes to crack the rotation in 2025.
