Nate Oats Strikes Again, Lands No. 1 JUCO PF In The Country
On Sunday morning, Georgia Highland College’s four-star prospect and the No. 2 JUCO recruit in the country, Langston Wilson, committed to Nate Oats’ 2021 class for the Alabama Crimson Tide.
According to 247Sports, Wilson is not only the No. 1 JUCO recruit from the state of Pennsylvania, as he has also worked himself up to the No.1 rank for his position (PF) throughout the US.
The 6-foot-9 forward had narrowed his list of potential landing spots down to Alabama, Alcorn State, Cal. State at Bakersfield, Iona, Memphis, Ole Miss, Oregon, Penn State, South Carolina, and Texas A&M, prior to his commitment to continue with his career in Tuscaloosa.
Under JJ Merritt, head coach for the Georgia Highlands Chargers, Wilson saw time in all 32 appearances, including eight starting nods. Even though his playing time only averaged just over seven minutes per outing, he still managed to put up 10.1 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
Langston Wilson is originally from Upper Darby, Pennsylvania and attended Monsignor Bonner & Archbishop Prendergast (Bonner-Prendie) Catholic High School in Drexel Hills before his time in Georgia. Due to a childhood diagnosis of Marfan syndrome, Wilson was kept out of competitive basketball until he reached college. Langston is the son of Ron Wilson, who also has Marfan syndrome and played for Villanova in the mid-90s along with a career touring with the Harlem Globetrotters.
Wilson is currently the third signee and second forward to commit to the 2021 Alabama recruiting class for Nate Oats and Bryan Hodgson.
