Easter Weekend Forecast Brings Possible Storm Threat to Alabama
The Easter holiday weekend may bring a little extra “hop” to the forecast, with the possibility of severe weather.
The Townsquare Media Weather Center is monitoring weather conditions for Saturday afternoon into Sunday morning, as a cold front is set to push a line of rain and thunderstorms across Alabama.
“Damaging wind gusts up to 60 mph and large hail up to quarter size will be possible with showers and thunderstorm activity,” is possible, said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.
“While a strong storm is certainly possible, the overall severe threat looks low as the main dynamic support will be well to the north, and instability values won't be especially high,” said James Spann, Alabama Weather Network and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist.
The temperature outlook from Saturday to Sunday ranges from a 13-degree to a 15-degree difference, with Sunday much cooler than Saturday.
