In the news in recent years, we've seen an increase in violent crimes, especially those involving firearms.  Concerned citizens and government have been working to curb gun use by implementing many programs and campaigns designed to get guns off the streets.  One such event is set to take place this Saturday.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department, Northport Police Department, West Alabama Task Force, and community partners (Plum Grove Baptist Church, Beulah Missionary Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa City Councilor Sonya McKinstry, Lanier Automotive, and McKinstry Banquet Hall) encourage Tuscaloosa County residents to turn in their guns with no questions asked. Those who participate stand to receive up to $200 per weapon!

So, let's get those guns off the streets.
