Gas prices do go up in the Summer most years. Most of the time, that is a direct result of the summer vacation season and such an increase in travel. This is not a seasonal increase. Economists say that fuel prices are likely to keep rising in 2026. The reason? The flow has yet to return to normal.
The United States is one of the largest oil producers in the world, yet most of us are feeling the pinch. The problem is that even though we produce a lot of oil, we don't control the prices. Rising gas prices contribute to rising inflation.
