Rain And Falling Temperatures
Rain And Falling Temperatures
Today, you can expect rain! Also, the high for today will be near 60 but will be falling to 43 degrees early this evening. There could be wind gusts as high as 25 mph. Tonight, the rain continues with a low near 32 and wind gusts up to 20 mph. So, be sure to bring a coat so when you leave work, later on, you are warm.
Also, the National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook. “Rain may transition to a wintry mix across far northern and northwestern portions of Central Alabama beginning around 6 PM this evening. A brief snow accumulation around a tenth of an inch or less is possible along and north of a line from Vernon to Double Springs through midnight. Wintry mix is expected to end across northern Central Alabama around 3 AM. No further snow accumulations are expected across these areas.” This is for the following counties: Marion-Lamar-Fayette-Winston-Walker-Blount-Etowah-Calhoun-Cherokee-Cleburne-Pickens-Tuscaloosa-Jefferson-Shelby-St. Clair-Talladega-Clay-Randolph-Sumter-Greene-Hale-Perry-Bibb-Chilton-Coosa-Tallapoosa-Chambers-Marengo-Dallas-Autauga-Lowndes-Elmore-Montgomery-Macon-Bullock-Lee-Russell-Pike-Barbour.
This will be more than likely a North Alabama event. The time frame for the possibility of rain changing to light snow will be more than likely between 6 pm to 3 am. I don’t believe there will be major travel impacts. However, our low tonight will be around or below freezing; therefore, some areas icy areas. At this time, there are no winter weather advisories but I will keep you posted.
