It's no secret that Mercedes Benz US International is a major employer in Alabama, with thousands employed at its Vance plant and even more at supplier plants. As a result our economy has faired quite well in comparison to other areas. However, it looks like there may be trouble on the horizon.

Reports say that Mercedes vehicles are being parked at numerous lots in the region. One source describes the situation as vehicles being stored.  We certainly hope that's the case.... And that those for whom the vehicles are being kept default on whatever their payment is so the vehicles can be sold for much less than they're worth.  That's usually how nonpayment on storage goes, right?
